holidays in my family are so special! not only can we worship the one who the holiday is for but we get to spend wonderful quality time together and i could not be more blessed! my family are the best supporters i could ask for and are with me 110% of the time in everything i do. they have been behind me with school, college, moving to tuscaloosa and then moving back, moving to florida and supporting my dream, and have helped me readjust to being back in the real world and not my fantasy world! they have always shown me love from them and taught me the love of jesus christ.
this easter holiday was a bit different for my dad's side of the family! it was our first easter without my grandad, who we lost in august. i have so many memories with him that i could talk about all day and love to think back on! but probably one of my favorites are our easter sundays together! my pawpaw LOVED to build things and he built these wooden character for easter and christmas. easter consisted of bunnies, they were like 3 feet tall and held baskets painted with colorful eggs! today when i pulled into my grandparents house i was happy to see that my grandmother put those out this year! and my favorite thing was always the easter egg hunts! they were probably the BEST easter egg hunts in the world! i want to say that they would hide around 100 eggs every year! some real, some fake! and pawpaw always had a GOLDEN egg! that egg had money in it and every year, except for maybe 1 or 2, i always got the golden egg! i can see my pawpaw now just sitting on his front porch swing watching us grandchildren hunt those eggs! he loved that so much!!! and then today to experience an easter with no easter egg hunt and no granddad there with us was so different. i know things will take time for all of us to get used to but i do know that i had my granddads spirit with me all day today! one thing that did make today special though....it was the first day i went to visit the grave site! he finally got his headstone and my aunt and grandmother made a beautiful flower arrangement for it. when i pulled up the first thing i notice, they had laid out easter eggs for him! i know he was smiling about that as he watched us!
it was a wonderful easter sunday to spend with all my family!!! we had a nice church service and wonderful fellowship following and i just could not be happier to have a break from school and work to share it with my family!
"PRAISE THE ONE WHO PAID MY DEBT AND RAISED THIS LIFE UP FROM THE DEAD!"
i hope all of you had a wonderful easter with your families and that you remember what this holiday is in remembrance of!
have a magical day!
