i take my magic everywhere i go!

something new i have decided to add to the blog. i have found a WONDERFUL tumblr site that i am going to steal photos from, don't worry, i will supply her address. i will attach a picture to every blog and explain why i love it so much!

one of my guilty pleasures while i was on my college program was pressed pennies!! i don't really know why i ever really started doing it but i did! i have a tinkerbell collection book, OF COURSE and it is filled with all kind of pennies!! tinkerbell, mickey and the gang, big thunder mountain, some of my favorite rides and characters, and even some pressed quarters! it's kind of cool to do, but gets expensive! i even thought about one day going park to park and using a park map and then creating a separate map from it where penny machines are and what you can kind there!

and now on to the real blog post:

my college program definitely changed me! i grew up, matured, and learned more about who i was on the program. but at the same time, i became a kid and i never want that to change. after the program, i returned home to my job with academy sports & outdoors working in team sports. i knew that it would not compare to my job with disney and i knew things would be hard for me! and they have been! i have not adjusted to being back even though i try and hide is so much! i can't, everyday i still find some way to talk about disney and incorporate it in my day as much as i can. i wear my mickey mouse earrings to work everyday just so i can remember the magic i experienced there and try and bring some of that with me. it's been very hard, and i know that it will never be a "disney job" but i have to make the best of my time with academy. and today, i got that chance of bringing all my magic into the building and for the 10 minutes i did, everything was perfect again!

a mom and daughter came in today, just shopping like all customers do. i was hanging out on the kite aisle because for some reason lately i have been really obsessed with wanting to buy a kite lately because we have cute disney (toy story, princesses, cars, and finding nemo) kites and she and her mom decided to come down the aisle while i was hanging out there. the little girl was wearing a purple tinkerbell shirt and had a pink jacket over it with a tiara bejewled into it. as any good associate would do i asked them if they needed any help or if they where looking for anything particular. in return the little girl goes A KITE! she was around 8 years old or so. and after that i went straight into a disney role and training.
"well sweetie, you obviously need the princess kite, look at that beautiful tiara on your sweater!" i said to the little girl. "that's perfect" she replied! the conversation quickly turned in to what kind of kite she thought i should get, then our favorite movies, then talking about our recent favorite releases (she really love tangled), our favorite colors (hers was pink until i said mine was purple and then she said, oh yeah mine's purple too)....[this is where mom chimed in! "she loves purple because it's justin bieber's favorite color". "OH YEAH" i said, "well i have justin bieber nail polish on", and that turned in to a whole other conversation!!
while it wasn't exactly a "disney magical moment" it meant a lot to me! and i know i was not really in the best environment to jump into that role, i hope her mom understood and does not think i am CRAZY! my day had been so long because i was working a mid-shift, but after that experience, everything was perfect about the end of my night!

i am sooo thankful to have my disney role as part of my personality! it really comes in handy! :)

have a magical day!
disney allie :)

  1. I know what you mean about having a hard time adjusting and talking about Disney all the time. My first semester back was so hard. I missed Disney so much. It does get easier though. I also talk about Disney and my program all the time. When I meet new people it comes up, when I talk about pretty much anything it comes up. :) I definitely think thats a common CP characteristic. lol.
