NYC, what is it about you?

MOM AND I TOOK OVER NYC!!!!
and we had an absolute BLAST!!

of course, this trip was back in may but i am such a slacker these days! but, y'all will forgive me so it's okay!

day one: leave t-town WAYYYY early in the morning to make it to the airport. flight to NYC! arrive in newark, nj (that's where we stayed, right at penn station). get ready for dinner and the lion king on broadway.

transportation: subway! yikes!! our first time figuring it out, well let's just say we didn't figure it out very well! we spend $10 a piece on a ticket that we didn't even need. so we got on the train to find out it was wrong so then had to pay like double the amount for a regular ticket since we were already on! but once we were in times square (only took 15 minutes or so) i took over navigation!
dinner at planet hollywood and then off to THE LION KING! absolutely the best thing i have ever seen! if you can ever see it on broadway, do it! you won't regret it!

day two:
-first stop: world trade centers!! absolutely crazy being in the place where 9/11 took place! but seeing the progress on the new buildings was breath-taking. we also went over to battery park to get a look at the statue of liberty. we didn't get on the boat over for one main reason: that thing looked like it was going to tip over at any given moment! the waves were really bad that day so i just said "i have a zoom on my camera, i can just take a picture from here"! we also saw trinity church which was in national treasure so i was very stoked about that!

-next is time to make our way back to the city! lydia tried to take over navigation again; she failed since she landed us in brooklyn heights. don't worry, i quickly told her she was wrong and that i knew where we needed to go so i took over and we made our way to times square. we had lunch at hard rock and then it was time to do some SHOPPING!!!! everything is like 4-5-6 stories tall! all my favorite stores = doubled in size! it was AMAZING!!
disney store. american eagle. anthropologie. rockefeller center/plaza. michael kors. hollister & abercrombie (which had REAL MALE MODELS!). bergdorf & goodman. bloomingdales. apple. TIFFANYS (all 6 stories). central park. trump tower. grand central station. macy's. continued continued continued. a lot of stores and very little time.

i met up with Leeanne who worked at Thunder with me on my Disney program and we went and had dinner at a very WONDERFUL italian restaurant! we also met up with Steph (my roommate from freshman year)! she was on a trip with some people from UA meeting with businesses, etc.
and after a very long day i was ready for bed back at the hilton!

day three:
HOBOKEN! who knows what takes place in hoboken? CAKE BOSS! that's right, mom and i went and marked off an item on her bucket list! the bakery was so tiny and luckily not very crowded on the day we went! mom and i both bought our fair share of desserts and treats! :)

then it was back to the hotel to get ready for the UA softball game! they were playing at fordham university so we took a train from grand central to the bronx to watch in yucky weather. we lost, but that's okay! it was cool to see our girls playing in NY!
then we headed back into the city for our last night and just to say goodbye to the city.

i started watching gossip girl from the very beginning when i got back because i was on such a NYC high! well now, it's safe to say that i miss the city and have so many more things i want to see! no worries, i'm already considering a second trip! :)
